In Fall 2026, the minimum OS requirements for the MapMy Apple Watch app will be updated to watchOS 9. This means that any Apple Watch that is not running watchOS 9 or a more recent OS will no longer be able to use our Apple Watch app. This includes all Apple Watch Series 3 watches.
We held on to older watchOS support as long as we could, but updates to Apple's development tools coming in September 2026 no longer let us build for both old and new versions at once. Continuing to try to support both would mean slower updates, fewer bug fixes, and fewer improvements for everyone on a supported watch.
If you have an Apple Watch that can be updated to watchOS 9 or higher, please update as soon as you can to make sure you do not lose access to the MapMy Apple Watch app.
