Support for connecting Under Armour Connected Footwear to the MapMy apps will be removed by the end of 2026.
Here's how this will affect your workouts:
- If you start your workouts from the MapMy app with your shoes connected, your workouts will continue to be tracked normally via GPS. You'll lose the shoe-specific data and in-app coaching features tied to the shoes' sensors, but your workout tracking itself won't be affected.
- If you currently track workouts using only your shoes, without starting the workout in the app, those workouts will no longer sync to MapMy once this change takes effect. You'll need to start workouts from within the MapMy app to record your workout.
You will still be able to view all past workouts that synced to your MapMy account from your connected shoes.
Some background on this decision: Under Armour stopped manufacturing Connected Footwear in 2023 and sold the MapMyFitness apps to Outside in 2024. We maintained official support for Connected Footwear through March 2025. The batteries in existing shoes are gradually failing and shoe usage has been steadily declining as fewer and fewer connectable shoes exist. We can no longer maintain support for this discontinued hardware, and removing this functionality allows us to focus our resources on new and improved features that will benefit more users.
